Jack
was born and raised in Vancouver, and graduated from
the University of British Columbia in 1967 with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in Economics. After working for the Royal
Bank of Canada for one year, he entered the life insurance
industry in 1968. Since that time he has been an agent,
general agent, manager and independent broker. In 1986,
he joined ZLC Financial Group (formerly Zlotnik, Lamb
and Company), and for the next 14 years was Director
of Professional Services.
In
August, 2000, Jack joined a large, national Managing
General Agency, The Pinnacle Brokerage Group as Vice-President
of Advanced Marketing. In this role, he was responsible
for assisting over 1,000 brokers as, well as several
investment firms, in completing or structuring sales
using highly technical financial strategies. Upon the
sale of The Pinnacle Brokerage Group in 2003, Jack became
a principal in Pinnacle Partners Financial Services
which offered sophisticated financial and estate planning
to individuals and corporations as well as providing
marketing support and resources to select independent
brokers working in the advanced and high net worth market.
In July, 2009, Jack returned to the ZLC Financial Group.
Jack
has lectured extensively to professional groups including
the B.C. Institute of Chartered Accountants, as well
as individual accounting and legal firms. He is co-author
of, and has been instructor for, both the introductory
and advanced life insurance courses for the Canadian
Institute of Chartered Accountants. Jack has addressed
many insurance industry meetings in both Canada and
the U.S., including the Million Dollar Round Table,
Top of the Table and the Conference of Advanced Life
Underwriting.
